Chapter 56: I Left My Heart in a Bakewell Tart
It is time once again to Stew on this! It is amazing to me how Innate can comfort my afflictions and also afflict me when I am too comfortable!
We got home a couple of nights ago after a magnificently wonderful month in Spain and (mostly) England – the longest trip we’ve ever taken. It was so long that the first time I drove my car, I tried doing it from the passenger side. It was so long that when I woke up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the first night at home, I had to grope around in the dark to find it!
It is amazing to me how quickly Innate adapts. And re-adapts.
We spent over three weeks in Bakewell, a lovely village in the heart of the Peak District of England. We stayed in the very same cottage when we were there last fall.
We were there so long this time, and we loved it so much, I feel as though I have left a significant piece of my heart there. (I am not a huge fan of Bakewell tarts, the town’s signature pastry, but they helped create a cool rhyming title for this chapter!)
We were super sad to leave, and Tahoe, though always beautiful, did not stir my heart as it usually does when I return. It is feeling a bit “small.”
They say that home is where the heart is. If true, it is becoming increasingly unclear where we will be living. Here? There? Some combination thereof?
Combined with the huge revelation I received from Innate a couple of weeks ago (see my last blog chapter if you have not yet heard the news about me “going back into practice”), the details of our life are feeling rather uncertain. This is interesting because if you had asked me a month ago, I would have told you that I was completely content with my life the way it was.
It is amazing to me how Innate can comfort my afflictions and also afflict me when I am too comfortable!
So, as we continue to recover from jet lag, I am trusting that clarity will emerge, as it always does when I allow Innate to guide me. In the meantime, I am continuing to accept job offers!
Stew on that, and I will see you next time.
We offer everything we do on a “love offering/pay the most your heart dictates” basis, just as we did in our chiropractic office. So, if this blog nurtures your soul and you’d like to give something back in exchange, click on the link below!
